Madeline Montgomery

She is employed by the FBI in Quantico Virginia. She is testifying to her education and background. She analyzes blood, urine, and does on livers and brains to see if there is any signs of toxins or poisons. Montgomery is accepted as an expert in forensic chemistry and toxicology. Montgomery tested the hair mass found with Caylee's skull to see if there was any chemicals. Montgomery explains they break the hair and turn it into a dust- they break it down with a liquid chromatograph mass spectrometer.Montgomery tested for Xanax, klonopin, the date rape drug, and a drug used in the club scene to hallucinate. Results negative. Montgomery says they even used a new procedure to look for about 10 drugs- results still negative.Montgomery says they don't know how much of a drug someone would need before a result would be positive. Montgomery says hair isn't the best to show drug exposure.
Ashton says a negative result is forensically meaningless. Montgomery says she couldn't test hair samples for chloroform. Ashton says if someone was given something And shortly thereafter, it wouldn't show up would it? Montgomery says it wouldn't.
Excused.
