SGT Officer Hosey , OCSO , In charge, July 15, 2008

.Hosey was the supervisor at the Orange County Sherriff’s Office. He was on the scene after the initial 911 calls were made Hosey directed deputies on scene to 1. Go to Sawgrass 2. Go to Tony Lazzaro's apartment.Hosey was the supervisor at the Orange County Sherriff’s Office. He was on the scene after the initial 911 calls were made. At this point he didn't know Caylee was kidnapped-- just that they didn't know location.Casey Anthony told him Caylee was w/ Nanny Zanaida. Casey voluntarily walked w Hosey. He wanted to get Casey away from chaos at house.Hosey says he knew there were issues between Casey Anthonyand mother and there were a lot of deputies so he wanted to get her away.Casey Anthony told him she wanted to keep Cindy from taking Caylee away from her. He contacted Corporal Yuri MelicCheney Mason cross examines.Mason asks why he isn't in uniform. He is in a suit. Hosey says he wanted to look nice for court. Hosey says everyone at Anthony home was in uniform (gun belt and all) in marked patrol cars. 
Hosey says he had other deputies and calls going out. He doesn't recall seeing Casey Anthony in hand cuff.He doesn't remember telling any deputy to take hand cuffs off .When he was called out to Anthony home the garage door was open and so was trunk of car. He smelled a foul odor.  He did not have the scene investigated.Casey had  the oppurtnity to leave the car. Mason- Did you or any officer advise Casey Anthony or her Miranda rights? "I'm not aware of anyone doing that"  She only had to ask the deputy. She would not have been able to get out of the car herself. He was there when Casey returned. She was led into the house by a deputy. She was talking to several deputies.  Casey was in the home with at least 3 deputies.  Hosey testifies that they are in the house at different times. The officers were working.  Hosey testifies that he would or would not allow people to leave.  A detective was called. Hosey at that time  is not in the "chain of custody." 
Prosecuter Burdick Casey told Detective that Caylee was alive, she was with a babysitter, she could not contact babysitter, she did not want Cindy to have contact with Cindy.  It is important that his officers talk and take statements from occupants to the house. This would include, George, Cindy and Lee. He did not make any effort to stop people from leaving the home. No one told him they wanted to leave. They were cooperative in assisting them with the investigation to find Caylee.  Hosey would have told Officer Acevedo to talk to Casey en route to apartment to ensure she ws there voluntarily. Casey could walk about the house freely and unassisteed. She was not told she could not leave. Casey was speaking to him freely. She was not in handcuffs. NO more questions.
Attorney Mason. George was overall calm but he voiced the same concerns as Cindy. He told him he was an ex-cop.Cindy was upset, tearful, anygry.She showed alot of emotions but at times she was calm. Casey  had a flat affect.  Excused.
